V. Jay Wadman

1951 - 1984

V. Jay Wadman learned the construction business from his father Ben, who owned a small company during the Great Depression and through World War II. At that time, no job was too small and contracts where merely a handshake between two honest parties. “Honest Ben” as he became known, was more interested in doing a good job for his customers and making money was simply secondary.
That same principal was passed on to Jay Wadman when he started his own construction company in 1951 after completing a tour of duty in the United States Navy. He started his company working small remodel jobs, repair work, and a few small jobs for Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
In the decades that followed, the growth and success of the company was attributed to the high percentage of repeat customers that were loyal to V. Jay and his work ethic.
Just as Jay learned the construction business from his father, so too did his sons as they grew up around the business and then later worked for his company. In 1984, Jay’s son, David was named president of the Corporation and like his father, is adamant about building valued client relationships. “It is the foundation of our success. We excel at giving our valued clients the best in professional service and expert performance.”
In the 80’s Wadman Corporation covered the entire Intermountain Region and developed a very strong business presence in California. Even though the small remodel jobs remain a part of Wadman Corporation today, they eventually lead the way to larger projects for major national retail clients, resort developers, healthcare owners, large and small scale government projects, educational facilities, multi-unit and residential housing, travel centers, hotels, restaurants, churches, libraries, correctional facilities, educational facilities, financial facilities, grocery stores, and other projects reflecting our diverse background in various market sectors.

David Wadman

1979-2022

David Wadman was born and raised in Weber County, the son of V. Jay and June Wadman. He learned to work hard early in life, helping his father on construction sites at a young age. His teenage years were spent learning the art of carpentry, and concrete and gaining hands-on experience in every aspect of creating a building. David said at the time, working that hard was not his idea of fun, but now he greatly appreciates the work ethic his parents taught him. Jay Wadman not only taught his son about construction, but David says his father was a “constant good influence in his life.” David emulates his father’s example and is a person of integrity, with a strong moral compass. These attributes are reflected in the way he conducts business.
He became Vice President of Wadman Corporation in 1982 and two years later, after receiving a Business Administration / Finance Degree from Weber State University, David became President and was responsible for the overall operations of the company. He has successfully built a strong and successful general contracting company that continues to build all over the United States, including Hawaii and Guam. In 2007, David adjusted his role in the company and became Chief Executive Officer while making Dave Hogan President of Wadman Corporation.
David is passionate about his employees and helping them become successful, not only on a professional level but also in their personal lives. The culture of Wadman Corporation is based on integrity, and it shows in the longevity and loyalty of its people and is personified in David Wadman. He has said, “The motivation to grow a business and be accomplished financially becomes secondary to the growing of people and relationships and allowing others to become successful”.
In August of 2022, it was determined that the next generation of Wadman leadership should be put into place. The new owners of Wadman Corporation, Dave Hogan, Spencer Bradley, and Ryan Wadman remain committed to the company's values of integrity, excellence, and putting people first, just as Jay and David did when they started the company.
David is also passionate about giving back to his community. He has been involved in many service projects, bettering the lives of those involved. He has served on several boards, including the Ogden Pioneer Days Foundation, Boy Scouts of America, Crossroads of the West Council, American Indian Services, and WSU Construction Management Board. Recently, having served a full-time mission in Oahu, Hawaii. David and his wife, Ronda, continue their dedication to service.
